Be Still and Listen for God
November 20, 2025
I woke up at 3:30 and my brain immediately started churning. The truth is that the enemy uses "things" and "tasks" to keep us thinking we are following God, but in fact, we are being distracted from hearing His voice. 5.5 more hours until my fast ends and God has shown me so many things in the last 40+ hours. Realizations, warnings, corrections. I was constantly being brought to 1 Kings 19:11-13.
And he said, “Go out and stand on the mount before the Lord.” And behold, the Lord passed by, and a great and strong wind tore the mountains and broke in pieces the rocks before the Lord, but the Lord was not in the wind. And after the wind an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake. 12 And after the earthquake a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire. And after the fire the sound of a low whisper. 13 And when Elijah heard it, he wrapped his face in his cloak and went out and stood at the entrance of the cave. And behold, there came a voice to him and said, “What are you doing here, Elijah?”
We get so caught up in the wind, the earthquakes, and the fires that we, I, sometimes forget that God is not always in those things. Sure, He can be, but most often He is waiting for us to step away so we can clearly hear Him. So today I need to ask myself, "What am I doing here?"
Today let's just try to step away from all of the distractions and be still and wait to hear from God.
